If you have no interest in my drawing history, skip down too the second time you see the triple dashed lines.

I looked for the owner of the meme though they don't seem to be on DA anymore or has a different title.

Anyways! I don't really remember why I did this meme. I remember something reminding me about this meme and then me wanting to do it though I don't remember what that was. Side note: I changed the dates from the original to fit my needs.
For those small numbers of you that knew me since 2008, a.k.a. when I first joined DeviantArt, this might be a drive down memory lane. For you newer folks, there's stuff in there for you too.

In 2008, that's what my OC Xobot used to look like: Very very humanoid with even hair on his head. At this time, I was watching a lot of anime and was I guess inspired by the wacky hair styles. Towards the end of my first year on DA, I noticed that I wasn't getting a lot of views so I decided that maybe changing my OC's appearance would help. And it turns out, it did...a little.

In 2009 (one of the greatest years for movies), I was still into anime but I was also into Mass Effect. A LOT. But I was also into Battlestar Galactica so those three things inspired me most of the time (clouded backgrounds, space images, bright neon lights everywhere). I didn't show much of Xobot's mouth only because I was still trying to image "What should his lips and mouth look like?" I didn't want them to be too human but not too robotic (Michael Bay's Transformers style) that it's too complicated. So I just added the metalic wires to help sell the realistic yet cartoonish effect.

In 2010, I branched out into developing more characters, more alien species, and even started my first (attempted) graphic novel. By this time, the shape of a Robotics head was a little more rounded and much nicer than oval shaped. I also developed better shadows, highlights, and lighting. It's also the year I introduced more textures in my works. I still had that anime look though I started to drift away from it, except SGT FROG. He's awesome.

In 2011, major changes occurred. By the end of the year, I lost my interest in anime completely (thanks :icontracyjb:). Though it's not really her fault. On one of her drawing tutorials on drawing a face, she commented on drawing mouths and included the side mouths that anime had. She commented that it was easier to draw, though not as impressive, it works for "animating on the cheap." I'm not animating so I challenged myself to do better. Thanks Tracy!:D Check out her tutorial here [link] It's inspired me, maybe it'll inspire you.
Anyways, I lost interest in anime (except the shows like Gundam, SGT FROG, appleseed...anything with robots) and found my extreme interest when seeing "Blade Runner." Even to this day, it still visually and story wise inspires me and influences me realistically. I also started to draw my OC's more proportional and detailed than simple straight lines and simple designs.

And now in 2012. Ok I can't really put this year down yet since this years only half over (even though I did already) buuuuut I did anyways. This year, my goals were and are more reachable, yet still challenging and (hopefully) a large success. I'll probably do a "January to December" meme just so I can link back to this meme.

All in all, I wanted to thank you guys for the views, comments, and watches. With out you guys viewing my stuff, I probably would have quit and curled into a depressed ball :XD:. But really, you guys are the reason why I continue making my humanoid robots and I can't thank you enough for it. :D

Stay in tune for some interesting images that are action packed, heart warming, heart breaking, drama tiring, and doodles, and comic pages and movies!

Whoah-ly crap! That's an uber impressive sight; getting to see how you've improved in the past 4 and a half years!

Also I had to go digging through your gallery for the first face (left one) in 2011. Dat expression ;P
